Position Overview
As the Consumer Lifecycle Manager – Outbound, you will own the full outbound engagement stack—push, SMS, in-app, email, and WhatsApp—from infrastructure to execution. You will design and run lifecycle campaigns across onboarding, activation, re-engagement, and churn intervention, with a relentless focus on measurable, incremental impact. This is a high-ownership IC role at the intersection of growth, data, and product.
Role & Responsibilities
- Own all outbound channels end-to-end (push, SMS, in-app, email, WhatsApp) — build and maintain delivery infrastructure in CleverTap
- Design and execute lifecycle campaigns across every user stage: D1/D3/D5 onboarding nudges, activation prompts, re-engagement sequences, dormant win-back, and churn intervention
- Run continuous experimentation across channel × send time × content × tone × frequency × sequencing — maintain a live hypothesis backlog with at least one testable hypothesis per cycle
- Analyse every campaign post-execution: delivery funnel, incremental lifts vs. control group, opt-out rates — build a compounding campaign knowledge base
- Coordinate with vertical/category teams on nudge control, GTM on acquisition handoff and campaign calendar, and Tech on API integrations and reporting pipelines
- Drive personalisation (landing page, content) and automation (journeys, dynamic segments) into production — optimise push and SMS delivery per OEM and telecom circle
- Own GA readiness: regulatory template review, WhatsApp reach quality, delivery infrastructure reliability, and cost efficiency at scale
Must Have Criteria
- 4+ years of hands-on experience in CRM, lifecycle marketing, or growth marketing at a consumer internet company
- Direct, platform-level experience with CleverTap — building journeys, segments, campaigns, and dashboards (not just execution via an agency)
- Proven track record running A/B and multivariate experiments on outbound channels with documented incremental lift results
- Experience managing push notifications, SMS, and in-app messaging at scale (1M+ MAU product)
- Strong analytical skills — ability to independently build campaign performance reports, interpret delivery funnels, and derive actionable insights without dedicated analyst support
- Experience coordinating campaign execution across cross-functional teams (product, tech, GTM) with clear ownership and timelines
Nice to Have
- Experience with WhatsApp Business API campaigns — template management, opt-in flows, delivery optimisation
- Prior work at a fintech, super-app, or high-frequency consumer app where retention metrics were primary KPIs
- Familiarity with OEM-level push delivery constraints (Xiaomi, Samsung, OnePlus) and telecom circle-level SMS routing
- Experience setting up or migrating CRM infrastructure (e.g., onboarding CleverTap, building segment taxonomies from scratch)
- Exposure to regulatory compliance for outbound messaging (TRAI DLT, WhatsApp commerce policies)
