Role: GNC Engineer
Function: Guidance, Navigation & Control / Aerospace Engineering
Location: Bengaluru, India (with US operations)
Type: Full-time
Compensation: Competitive compensation and equity participation
Industry: Aviation & Aerospace / Space Technology
About Company
A venture-backed startup founded in 2023, dedicated to low-cost, reliable spacecraft components for LEO satellites. The company is modernizing the space component supply chain — delivering ADCS parts like reaction wheels, star trackers, and torque rods faster and at lower prices.
It has raised $2.2M in funding and operates across the US and Bengaluru, India. The seed-stage team of 6 engineers brings expertise from high-volume scaleups with global reach.
The company serves satellite manufacturers and space mission developers, helping them cut lead times and costs.
Position Overview
The company is seeking a GNC Engineer to design, implement, and validate advanced control algorithms for satellite components and spacecraft subsystems. The role bridges the gap between simulation and reality by supporting flight test campaigns and refining models based on real-world performance.
Role & Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and validate flight control systems for current and new ADCS products
- Study, define, and design operational modes of ADCS in Simulink based on mission requirements
- Support flight test campaigns, analyze telemetry data, and refine control models based on performance
- Contribute to GNC-related hardware design and embedded software architecture for real-time flight logic
- Prepare and execute validation testing including Software-in-the-Loop (SIL) and Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) analysis
- Collaborate with systems engineering and flight test teams to align requirements and simulation results
- Write, test, and optimize control algorithms in MATLAB and C++ for spacecraft applications
Must Have Criteria
- B.Tech/B.E. in Aerospace Engineering or Electrical Engineering with 1–2 years of experience
- Strong control systems fundamentals including stability analysis, controller design, and linear/non-linear systems
- Experience with GNC algorithm development for LEO, GEO, or interplanetary satellite platforms
- Proficiency in MATLAB with all toolboxes including Control System, Aerospace, and Simscape toolboxes
- Hands-on experience with Simulink for modeling ADCS operational modes and control system simulation
- Knowledge of orbital mechanics and spacecraft dynamics for attitude control applications
- Experience with C++ programming for embedded flight software development
Nice to Have
- Experience with Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) and Software-in-the-Loop (SIL) testing frameworks
- Previous work on ADCS components such as reaction wheels, star trackers, or magnetorquers
- Knowledge of space-grade hardware design and qualification processes
- Experience with real-time embedded systems for spacecraft applications
What We Offer
- Opportunity to work on cutting-edge space technology at a fast-growing startup
- Direct impact on revolutionizing the space component supply chain
- Collaborative environment with experienced engineers from high-volume scaleups
- Global exposure working with teams across US and India operations
- Competitive compensation and equity participation in a venture-backed company
