Position Overview

We're seeking a Backend Engineer (SDE-2) to design and build scalable backend services that power our healthcare platform. You'll own key modules end-to-end, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and help drive engineering best practices as we scale from 10 to 100.

Role & Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain scalable backend services with focus on performance and reliability
• Own and deliver well-scoped features end-to-end from design to deployment
• Contribute to technical design discussions and translate product requirements into scalable solutions
• Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code with proper testing and documentation
• Improve system performance, reliability, and observability through monitoring, logging, and alerting
• Collaborate with frontend, product, and data teams to deliver high-quality features
• Participate in code reviews and uphold engineering best practices while debugging production issues

Must Have Criteria

• 3+ years of backend development experience at B2C product companies
• Strong proficiency in at least one backend language (Node.js, Java, Python, or Go)
• Solid understanding of PostgreSQL database design and optimization
• Experience with Redis caching implementation and management
• Hands-on experience with message queues (SQS, RabbitMQ, or Kafka)
• Experience building and consuming RESTful APIs serving consumer-facing applications
• Working knowledge of AWS cloud services, Docker, and basic Kubernetes concepts

Nice to Have

• Experience in healthcare, pharmacy, or e-commerce domains
• Understanding of system design fundamentals including scalability and fault tolerance
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and observability tools
• Previous startup or fast-scaling company experience
